Directions
The Image for Sassy dunce is a digital image from Squigglefly, my favorite digital stamp company. I printed this image on the Heavenly White paper, Since Las Vegas is so dry I did not need to heat set the ink. but depending on your location or the amount of humidity in the air you might need to heat set the .
The image was color with Copic Markers, I wanted the hat to stick outside of the oval die cut. so I carefully trimmed the sides of the hat so the part I wanted to be outside of the die cut could be put over the cutting blade. I read about doing this in the Technique Junkies newsletter.
The scalloped oval was made using Sparkle Abysse paper. from Paper Temptress
The background was made using a piece of Heavenly White paper that I just scribbled different shades of yellow and blue watercolor crayons from Stampin' Up' , I then wet a paint brush and blended the colors together. After the paper was dry, I embossed the background paper with, the Cuttlebug embossing folder for birthdays. The raised embossed images was highlighted using Adirondack Red Pepper ink.
I took some of the Red Pepper ink and put it on a dry paper towel and lightly dabbed it around the Sassy -dunce image.
on a scrap of Heavenly white I stamped the saying from Penny Black It's your Birthday, with memento Tuxedo Black.
This was cut out using the same mega oval set as the main image did.
The card was mounted on plan white card blanks. that are 5 X6.5 that can be bought at Michael's.
