let Peace Surround you

This is another great image from Squigglefly  the artist is Chesney Young, and the image is called Fairy Pool. I felt the image looked like she was sad or deep in thought.  This is the last one of  my sympathy card series.  I know it was a strange image to pick for this. but I felt like it would work.
I colored her with copic markers.. and added some glitter with my glitter pen to the wings and trim on her dress.
Then I added some glossy accent to the water and the drops on the leaves.  The background is an embossing folder.
The saying is from hero arts.
Thanks for stopping by .. I hope this week I was able to give you some ideas with how to use different types of images to make sympathy cards.. and remember to always keep some on hand.. you never know when you might need them.. or if you do know like me that I will need them.. then you at least you can make them when you have the time..
Thanks for stopping by.

Looking Back

This is a 6 X6 card..using images from Squigglefly. The flower is just called Orchids, by Deena Perreault.  And the saying is part of a set called Sympathy Sentiments, by Michelle Bertuzzi.  The set is great it has 10 different sayings that work for most sympathy cards.
The background paper is from Classy Cards and Such.  The die cut around the flower is from Memory Box.
The image was colored with Copic markers.

This card was made to give to my Sister Sheila, Her husband is dying from Prostate cancer.
I made the card ahead of time not because I am a horrible person. but because I know when the times comes. I will not be able to make this card, I will be way too sad.
Inside the card I took a message that my Brother Jim posted to her on facebook.  I was beautiful

Word are so full of meaning and yet can be spoke without any depth for a a time like this we can only look at this time as a graduation from one stage to another as we weep here on earth. Larry's family and loved ones will be celebrating his graduation from this mortal life. What joy will there be for Larry at meeting Dad, Mary Ann and Reed Jr. And his parents and family.
The rest of us are left here to push forward and to morn and cry and smile of the memories that we have of your husband.

I Love Copics

This card was made using a fun new image from Scrapbook stamp Society called I Love Copics, the artist is Heather Valentin.  I so love this image.. so much fun.  I even made the background paper using copic markers.  To do this I colored on an acrylic block. with my copic marker and added drops of blending fluid to the block then just pressed onto the paper.. then I filled in the gapes by  coloring in between with the copic marker.
The images were mounted on a wavy rectangle by Spellbinders.  The embossed background is one of the imbossiblities from Spellbinders and  the flowers were made using dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.
This was a fun card to make.. I hope you get this image and have some fun.
thanks

The Butterfly is from a dollar store.
the die cuts are prom spellbinders.
I stamped the flower with Verseamark ink then embossed with clear embossing powder. Then cut it out with the romantic rectangle die cut.
The other die cut is one made specially for Just Rite stamps.

The memory becomes a Treasure

It is Memorial Day weekend.. and since this is the weekend we remember our lost soldiers and love ones.  I am going to be doing mostly sympathy cards this weekend.  I know, what a theme.. but this is always something we should have on hand.. You never know when you will need them, and when you do, there is not the time or mostly the mood to do these.
The saying is from SimplyWood which has gone out of business
the chair is from Stampourri.
I colored with copic markers and then put it on mounted on designer paper and added some bling on the row from Michaels.
I like to keep my sympathy cards simple.

to make this card  I stamped on White paper with white ink, I colored the image with copic markers and cut the image out using the Spellbinder large Scallop oval,  Then I cut out the Swedish spring oval.. and was surprised out these two work so well together. The next step was to make the flowers.. the flowers were made by using just the blossom part of the darling daisy die and held together with a small brad. Then I cut out the border. then embossing the pink  paper.  If you have a cuttle bug make sure you read the M-bossiblities  instructions on the package.. because the sandwich is very different then you are used to..

Joy Everywhere

This Weeks Challenge at Squigglefly is to make the sentiment the focal point of the card.   The saying I choose is by Lynne Stansberry, and the saying is called Joy Everywhere  I love this saying and the calligraphy on the Joy just really makes the card pop.

The dies are from Memory Box.. I am still playing with some of my new toys.. They are little difficult to work with.  I discovered that the frame that goes over the background die does not like it if the paper is too thin.  I could not get this one to work in my cuttlebug.. I had to break out the big machine.  The flowers are from Petaloon.  and the embossing folder is one of the m-bossiblites from Spellbinders..

Make sure you join this  challenge this week.. it is easy I did a card with no coloring..

Plant Kindness

This  Image is another fun one for Scrapbook Stamp Society,   The image is called Garden Nellie Flower Basket, by Sherri Baldy  I love this image it has so many possibilities.  I choose to use my Copic Markers and to color her in Blues and yellows to match the colors in the designer paper that I wanted to use.  The corner die is from Cheery Lynn designs the background  in blue is from Memory Box and the ovals are from Spellbinders.  The saying is from Hero arts and the bling is from Michaels.
I cut out the image because I wanted a different look.  And I wanted to try out my new scissors.
Thanks for stopping by and swing on over to Scrapbook Stamp Society's blog and check out this weeks blog hop.

Gardens delight

This card  has such a nice summer feel to it.. Considering here in Las Vegas.. When I made this card it was almost a 100 degrees.  again so many items on this card can be pick up at Classy Cards'n Such .. a real nice all around store with really great service.
Supplies
Leaves embossing folder
Swedish Spring oval Frame
Ceylon Flowers by Prima
Rusty Hinge Distress Ink
Victorian Velvet Distress ink
Cryogen White
peite oval Spellbinder die
Copic marker
stamp from Onyx stamps
Memento black ink

I started this card by stamping on the Cryogen white paper, which is the only paper I will use with my Copic marker.  You will love this paper it has little glitters in it so the image when you color it just sparkles.  I Cut out the image with  an oval die cut and mounted it on the Swedish Spring frame, from Cheery Lynn.  The pink background paper I used a Technique Junkies technique called double bugging.  First I took the pink paper and a used the daisies embossing folder.  Then I highlighted the embossed portion with the Victorian Velvet distress ink. Then I put the paper back through the cuttle bug with the leaves embossing folder.  and then highlighted the raised portion with the Rusty hinge distress ink.  Then I assembled the card and added the Ceylon Flowers by Prima.

For todays card I wanted something special I choose my my image from Scrapbook Stamp Society, called Lil Sweeties Tea Party  .  I started by coloring my image with copic markers and then  cutting it using a round Spellbinders die.  and mounting it on a scalloped Spellbinder die.   The layout is found on Splitcoast stampers and it is called a center step card.  I  did take and make the card bigger then the one on the templet by adding 2 inches in length but leaving the hight the same.
The flowers are from Michel's and the bling is also .. the corner die is a Cheery Lynn.

Thank you for hopping with us.. I hope you  hop right over to Scrapbook Stamp Society and get you some of the wonderful images.. and you can always find some awesome samples on the facebook page.

Mothers Day Out

This is another fun and wonderful image from Scrapbook Stamp Society, the image is called Mothers Day Out.  The Artist is Sherri Baldy.  I colored this image with copic markers .. Which They now carry at Scrapbook Stamp Society.  At a very good price.  I want to apologize for the scan being burry.  I normally would have used my camera for this card. but I am having some technical difficulties.  The die I used if from Joy.  I had a hard time with this image because.. I only wished I could have looked like that after having either one of my two kids.. But we can dream.
This would make a great card for any new Mom.
