UP UP and Away in a magical Flying Machine.

The challenge this week at Outlawz, is called up, up and away.. So I was looking for an image to use and stumbled across the web site Make it Crafty .... the image is called Flying Balloon Contraption.  I started my printing the image just about as big as I could make it, because of the details on the image.. then I printed a colored  print of the image..just so I could spot all the details better..  I colored it with copic markers... then went to work on it with distress inks.  Because I wanted it to have an old feel to the card.. for the background I  used a stencil and moved it around coloring it with distress inks also.. the paper started out white.. Then I took some grunge paper..yes I still have some... for awhile if Tim Holtz made it ... I bought it.. might not know what to do with it... but had to have... This might be the first time I used it.. I colored the grunge paper with gel pins. .. then added distress ink the time charm.. yes it is from Tim... ..I know I should have some gears for true Steampunk.. but I think I came close..

The Blessing Tree

Today the Challenge on Sqigglefly is to use Twine, Ribbon, or floss.. I chose Ribbon.. because twine did not seem like it worked with this image of the Blessing Tree by a new artist at Squgglefly called Judith Hart.. Such a fun image to work with ...
I colored the image with copic markers  and cut it out with labels 29 from Spellbinders.. and used a heart from Cherry Lynn Designs.. the embossing folder in the back ground is for Courtier Creations.
I did a fake bow on the ribbon because the ribbon was just too thick to make a bow with ...

Make sure you join us this week at Squigglefly and show me how to use twine.. I would like to learn
thanks

Bird of Paradise

This week for the Scrapbook stamp society challenge we are using twine.. This is such a challenge for me I see people use it and think that looks good.. but I can never figure out how to add it to a card.
This is a brand new image called Bird of Paradise by Kim Gwin.
I colored the image with copic markers.. I looked on the internet to figure which colors to use on a bird of paradise.. I knew the top was orange ..but was unsure about the rest..
I hope you enjoyed my version of the bird of Paradise..
make sure you join us at the challenge you can win some awesome prizes.
Thanks

Birthdays are like Zombies

Today's card for the outlaws challenge is a Birthday card... And the person I gave it to laughed..
so there are still people out there with a since of humor..  The image is from Squigglefly  and it is called of course A Zombie.  and the artist is Fawn Palmer, who I am told has a teenage Son who she drew the image for.,  I colored the image with copic markers and then distressed it with red distress ink .. the sayings come with the set expect for the happy birthday.. that is a hero arts.  For the sayings I just tore them out and inked the edges in red then in black.. .

I hope this card gave you a chuckle..

Old Friends

This we on Paper ala Mode on Outlawz the challenge is to go a card themed on Friends.  I saw this image at Squigglefly and knew I wanted it but I said what would I use it for... but this challenge was the excuse I needed to get it.  The image is called A friendship built on Time by Lynne Stansbery.  I just love the shading Lynne adds to her images she makes me look good with my coloring . And the saying is also from Squigglefly and it is called Quilt Saying.  This just seemed to fit these lovely ladies. I wanted this card to be a little on the distressed side.. because aging just distresses me.
Thanks for stopping by ..I hope you join me at Outlawz and show me your friendship.
I also entered this card in the Southern Girls Challenge things beginning with F

You Lite up my Night!

Today at Squigglefly the Challenge is to do a Guy card... I find these just so hard to do... Why is that.
The image I choose is called Firefly Frenzy Max by Cheryl Alger.
I colored the image with copic markers.. and decided that it need to by Night because as far as I know firefly's are a night insect. I have never seen one they do not live in my area of the country.
Maybe I am wrong but I think guy cards need to be simple.. because the guys I know do not like a lot of stuff on their cards... So I used a couple of embossing folders from Cuttlebug.. and a corner rounder..
and just kept it simple..
Make sure you enter the Squigglefly blog challenge for your chance to win a image of your choice

Thanks
Debie

Plant kindness

The challenge this week for outlawz is to do a card inspired by  pinterest.  The card I picked to make is from Spellbinders.  My stamp is from Hero arts.. I used a Spellbinders die..  and you place is cut side up after you fold the card.  then put it thru your die cut machine.  Then you take the die and cut out your saying inside the card.. Then the other technique they taught was to make the edges colored I always wondered out people do this.. what you do is ink the die than cut out the die... and you have inked edges.. how cool is that.. then I carefully cut the frame and glued it  on the outside of the card.  The other dies are from joy creatible,  corture creations and another company that I cannot think of.. what the video.. they give you a step by step directions on how to make the card..
